Replacing upper control arm bushings with lemfoerder control arm bushings ? i know replacing the control arms with m3 parts is a common solution but what about simply replacing of the actual bushing. i came across these lemfoerder control arm bushings and was wondering how difficult the install would be., hi fellas, ok front bushes are shot after 50k milesm and have either the option of lemforder or the myle brand, both ok pricewise but what do you guys recommend?, bearing in mind that i am located it country with more pot holes than people…..will installing the stiffer (from what i have ready reviews)myle bushings, mean more stress on the connected components and a bumpier ride?.
I put meyle on my a4 and tbh wasn't that impressed, you get a good warranty with them (4years) but after 6 months one of the bushes popped with of one of the upper arms and now 2years on both upper arms are starting to perish which i have been told is ware and tear!, it was always my understanding that the arms themselves are not wearing parts - they are just big bits of metal - but that the reason its generally advised to replace the entire arm with bushes is simply because it's considerably easier than changing just the bushes with oem spec ones, as you need a press to get them in, etc etc and by the time you've gone to all that hassle you may as well just replace the arms.
